Football

We took Daniel to his first BYU football game! Thanks to Bekah and Grant for getting us tickets and inviting us :) Daniel tends to get startled easily by loud noises, so I think he almost had a heart attack the first time the crowd roared because of a good play! But after being there for a little while he settled in and actually enjoyed himself. He even slept while we were there, albeit not very restfully. But I was still impressed (here's a trick: just hold a folded blanket to their ear to drown out some noise). Two thoughts on this: one, the best place for a baby at a football game is the very top row where there's lots of room to get up and fewer people to disrupt, and two, football games are long. And I'm not just saying that because I had a baby with me. You really do have to be in it for the long haul and plan on it taking your whole day. But they are also a lot of fun! P.S. Bring a bottle. Football games are not the ideal spot to nurse a baby. Just too many people you can flash at so many angles!

  1. Ah, this brings back memories! I nursed Scotty many times in that stadium :) the trick for me was to sit on the bench in front of Eric so I could lean back against his legs for support and be a little more discrete. He loved football the first year, when we had nosebleed seats. The next year? we were right in the middle of the student endzone sections with the crazies (and we were the crazies! especially eric and stephen...) after swapping out standing near the food stands for a few games, we opted to get babysitters for the rest of the season.
